Cokeville, Wyoming, a small town nestled in the Bear River Valley near the Idaho-Wyoming border, has a history rooted in frontier settlement and agricultural development. Originally inhabited by Shoshone and Bannock tribes, the area was settled by Mormon pioneers in the late 1870s, who were drawn by the fertile land and abundance of water. The town was officially established in 1881 and named "Cokeville" due to the presence of coal deposits nearby.
